Death of a Fort Hood Soldier

Capt. Stanley L. Frederick

FORT HOOD, Texas -- Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died March 16 from a terminal illness in Houston, Texas.

Capt. Stanley L. Frederick, 30, whose home of record is listed as Wrightsville, Ga., entered active-duty service in January 2008 as a maneuver fire and effects officer. He was assigned to Company B, Warrior Transition Brigade, Fort Hood, since April 2013.

Frederick deployed to Iraq from February - December 2009 and again from June - November 2011.

Frederick's awards and decorations include two Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service
Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
