UPDATE: Three dependents found unresponsive in Fort Hood housing

QUANTICO Va. -- Special Agents from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command are continuing the investigation into the deaths of three family members who were found in an on-post house Jan. 21 in the Pershing Park neighborhood on Fort Hood, Texas.

A 43-year-old husband and two daughters, nine and four years old, of a Soldier who recently returned from an overseas deployment, were discovered in the female Soldier's on-post quarters at approximately 7:15 a.m.

Although a final determination has not been made and the investigation is continuing, early indications are the deaths are possibly the result of a tragic murder suicide involving the husband and the two children. Officials from CID will not make a final determination until a very thorough and complete investigation is conducted, all physical and testimonial evidence is examined, and all possible leads are exhausted.
Autopsies are being conducted by the Office of the Armed Forces Medical Examiner.  At this point, CID does not believe there is any threat to the local community. No further information is being released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigative process.
