III Corps to host retirement ceremony for Maj. Gen. Kendall P. Cox, June 5.

FORT HOOD, Texas -- III Corps Headquaters will host a retirement ceremony in honor of the Deputy Commanding General of III Corps and Fort Hood, Maj. Gen. Kendall P. Cox at Cooper Field on Friday, June 5 at 9 a.m.

Prior assignments include serving as the commanding general of the Transatlantic Division which supports the Army Corps of Engineers missions in the U.S. Central Command’s area of operations, consisting of 20 countries from Egypt through the Arabian Gulf to Central Asia. He also served as the assistant to the Senior Military Assistant in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and Commander of the 1st Cavalry Engineer Brigade, at Fort Hood, Texas, which included a tour in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Following command at Fort Hood, Major General Cox was the Director, Office of the Chief of Engineers, with the Army Staff at the Pentagon. He served in that position for seven months before being called back to Iraq to serve as the Reconstruction Advisor to the Commander, Multi-National Corps – Iraq.

For media interested in attending the ceremony the gate time for the event will be on Friday at 8:00 a.m. at the south side parking lot of the Fort Hood visitor's center.
