Death of a Fort Hood Soldier

Pvt. Christopher Micheal Sroka

FORT HOOD, Texas -- Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died Sept. 13 in an apartment fire in Killeen, Texas.

Pvt. Christopher Micheal Sroka, 21, whose home of record is listed as Findlay, Ohio, entered the military in February 2012 as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. He was assigned to Company B, 115th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, since August 2012.

Sroka's awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.
