Death of a Fort Hood Soldier

FORT HOOD, Texas -- Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who was found unresponsive Aug. 9 in his barracks room here.

Pvt. Robert Jeffrey Snear, 21, whose home of record is listed as Coleman, Michigan, entered active-duty service in June 2013 as a power generation equipment repairer. He was assigned to 720th Military Police Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, Fort Hood, since January 2014.

Snear's awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.

Circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation.
