Fort Hood’s Veterinary Center is offering wellness discounts to its Fort Hood beneficiaries in honor of “One Health Week,” an Army Public Health Center (APHC) Veterinary Services initiative focusing on pet health. From November 3-10, the center will be offering wellness discounts on various services.

The state of the art facility, located at 80th St. and Engineer Dr., offers routine surgical and medical care for animals owned by personnel who are authorized DoD medical care. Available services include routine vaccinations, sick-call appointments, X-ray services, dental cleanings, dental surgery, spays and neuters, and gastropexies (to prevent life-threatening bloat). Surgical and dental procedures are performed Tuesdays and Wednesdays weekly. Appointments are generally made up to two weeks in advance.

The center, with its nine veterinarians and technicians, has approximately 50 appointments available daily. To make an appointment, call the center at 254-287-6719 or 254-287-2823. You can also visit the clinic, building 4909. Eligible pets will need to be registered at the clinic prior to scheduling an appointment.

Appointments are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday appointment schedule is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Over-the-counter medications are available until 4:30 p.m. Surgical and dental procedures are performed Tuesdays and Wednesdays weekly.
