FORT HOOD, Texas- Daryl and Diana Dorcy will visit the 1st Cavalry Division Museum on Apr. 5. at 1:30 p.m. to donate a framed painting of Col. Ben Dorcy and Lt. Col. Laurence Dorcy in uniform. They will also donate two scrapbooks and personal memorabilia.

Col. Ben Dorcy and his wife, Galdys, created and designed the 1st Cavalry Division patch in 1921 as the division was standing up.

This is a significant donation by the Dorcy family to the U.S. Center of Military History and First Team. The painting of Col. Dorcy will have a place of prominence inside the 1st Cavalry Division headquarters after renovation is complete. The memorabilia will become part of an exhibit in the new Fort Hood Museum.
