Culinary specialists from across the 1st Cavalry Division took on the challenge of the week-long Culinary NCO and Soldier of the year competition last week.

The winners were Staff Sgt. Hannah Abrams, 91st Engineer Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, and Spc. Rafael Sampson, 91st Eng. Bn., 1st BCT. These two will go on to compete next month at the III Corps Cook of the Year competition.

These First Team troopers displayed their culinary skills and ultimately competed in Soldier tasks to be named the Cook of the Quarter at the division level.
