Death of a Fort Hood Soldier

Pvt. Paige Briles

FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who was found unresponsive at an on-post residence Dec. 24 here.

Pvt. Paige Elizabeth Briles, 21, whose home of record is listed as Kaplan, Louisiana, entered active-duty military service in February 2015 as a wheeled vehicle mechanic.

Briles was assigned to the Warrior Transition Unit, Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Hood, Texas, since November 2016.

Briles' awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.

Circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation by U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command.
