Young Padawans to Receive Jedi Training at Fort Hood Exchange
FORT HOOD, Texas --The Fort Hood Exchange is offering military children ages 4-12 the chance to receive Disney-approved Jedi training at 11 a.m. Dec. 3 at the Fort Hood Clear Creek Main Store.
During each session, Jedis-in-training will learn how to wield a light saber, be trained in the ways of the Force and receive an official certificate stating they have completed the training. Robes and light sabers will be provided, though participants may show up in costumes of their own.
The Fort Hood Exchange provides events like Jedi at the Exchange to give military families a sense of community and an opportunity to make memories together that will last a lifetime. This supports the Exchange’s mission to bring military families together through quality goods and services. An estimated 250 children will attend this event with fully-costumed Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion, an international Star Wars costuming organization.
Ana Middleton, President and Chief Merchandising Officer for the Exchange and Martin Sansing, Vice President of Strategic Planning for The Walt Disney Studios will be available for media questions.
For more information or to schedule an interview with an Exchange representative please contact Chris Ward, 214-312-3861 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Media interested in attending the event should register here and meet a Public Affairs representative at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 3 in the south parking lot of the Marvin Leath Visitor Center for an escort on post.
