Death of a Fort Hood Soldier

FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who was found unresponsive at an off-post residence Nov. 18 in Killeen, Texas.

Spc. Korey Deonte James, 21, whose home of record is listed as College Park, Georgia, entered active-duty military service in August 2014 as a food service specialist.

James was assigned to the 3rd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, since January 2015.

James' awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.
