Death of a Fort Hood Soldier

FORT HOOD, Texas -- Fort Hood officials have released the name of a Soldier who died of an apparent gunshot wound Nov. 16 in Peru, Indiana.

Pvt. Kevin Paulino, 24, whose home of record is listed as Bronx, New York, entered active-duty service in May 2016 as an infantryman. He was assigned to 2nd Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, since September 2016.

Paulino's awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.

Circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation.
