FORT HOOD, Texas -- The III Corps and Fort Hood commanding general will host a ceremony celebrating the Army's 240th birthday at 11 a.m. June 11 on Sadowski Field near the III Corps Headquarters building here.

Lt. Gen. Sean B. MacFarland, commander, will officiate the ceremony. The celebration will include the placing of battle streamers on the III Corps guidon by Soldiers in period uniforms and an Army Aviation fly over.

Media desiring to cover the event should register here. A Public Affairs representative will meet the media at the Southside Parking Lot of Marvin Leath Visitors Center at 10:15 a.m. June 11.
