The Fort Hood Police Launch Tip411 Program:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DATE: August 30, 2012 12:37:59 PM CDT Fort Hood DES launches the national tip411 anonymous text program. FORT HOOD, Texas- The Fort Hood Police have added new dimension to the eyes and ears of Fort Hood to help create a safer community. The Fort Hood Directorate of Emergency Services is launching tip411, an internet based tool, that enables the public to text message an anonymous tip to police, and lets the police respond back creating a two way anonymous "chat". Reserved exclusively for Public Safety, tip411 puts a powerful new crime fighting tool into the hands of our community. Anyone with a cell phone can now send an anonymous tip to the Fort Hood Police by texting the word DES and the tip information to, 847411 (tip411). The program is 100% anonymous. Citizen Observer's technology removes all identifying information before the Police Department see's it so there's no way to identify the sender. The program is meant to ensure that our community is a safer place to work or live. No one knows your community better than you. If you see something suspicious or know that criminal activity is taking place, text DES and your tip to 847411 (tip411) and a DES rep will create a dialog with you to get more specific information (if needed). This program gives the community the chance to come forward with information relating to potential violence, drugs, bullying, and other sensitive issues that sometimes go unreported for fear of retribution or ridicule. It’s 100% anonymous. CitizenObserver’s technology removes all identifying information before the Police Department see’s it so there’s no way to identify the sender. REMEMBER: If it is an emergency, call 911!
