FORT HOOD, Texas — Fort Hood and members of the surrounding communities bid adieu to two senior leaders and promoted another during a Phantom Honors Farewell and Welcome Ceremony Tuesday at the III Corps Headquarters flagpole. During the ceremony, III Corps and Fort Hood Deputy Commanding General for Maneuver Maj. Gen. J.T. Thomson relinquished his duties to Maj. Gen. Kenneth Kamper. Thomson will soon depart Central Texas for a NATO assignment in Turkey. He has served as the deputy commanding general – maneuver since Nov. 3.
